Facebook is a tool that lets you stay in touch with people you encounter in your daily life, as well as those with whom you used to regularly interact but may have lost touch. Another way Facebook connects people is by allowing former classmates to get in touch with one another.

The friend suggestion tool has been refocused to help you find other users that share profile traits with your friends, not just you. The feature defaulted to display other users that shared a profile trait with a user in one of a few categories, such as high school or college. How to Search Friends by School on Facebook

As the number of people on Facebook grows, it becomes more difficult to find a particular friend. The location search filter lets you narrow your search yield so you view only those users who live in a particular region. You can search for users by state -- provided you know which city they live in. If searching one city does not work, repeat the search with another nearby city.

The new search function shows up as a separate search box in the right-hand corner of their profile, allowing for you to search their page for specific words or phrases. For example, if you were to search the word "birthday," all of the posts from your birthday would come up. You can only search for posts that you can already see on their Timelines," a Facebook spokesperson told Tech Insider. While this seems like a small change, it can actually be hugely helpful. For example, say you see an interesting news article in your Newsfeed posted by a close friend. But when you go to their profile, it's no longer at the top of their feed.

If you're searching for someone in a particular city, you can narrow your search by location when searching for a person. If you're trying to target an advertising message to people in particular areas, you can also do so using Facebook's advertising tools. If you'd simply like to see information about a city, you can look for Facebook groups and pages related to that city through a search. To do a Facebook lookup or search and narrow it by city, first type the name of the person you are looking for into the search box on the Facebook website or smart phone app. Then, click the " People " tab to indicate you're trying to search for a person. Under the " Filter Results " options, choose the city you want to limit the Facebook lookup to. If the city you're interested in isn't listed as an option at first, click or tap " Choose a City " and enter the city's name. This should limit your search to people associated with that city.

Step # 3 - Adding Friends After you enter the city you would like to search, simply hit enter and the list of Feb 18, - Uploaded by Internet Services and Social Networks Tutorials from HowTech.
